The first of thirty of Franklin D. Roosevelt's Fireside Chats was given on March 12th, 1933. Juliette Gordon founded the Girl Guides group. The Girl Guides are better known under the name Girl Scouts of America as it was renamed later. Chief of Homeland Security Tom Ridge introduced the color coded warning system for terrorist attacks on this day as well.
